The short version: Crack the Nut is a free game run by NutLab to celebrate the NUT community. You get a free crack every few hours. Some shells hold real NUT, paid to your wallet automatically. It costs nothing to play, and buying NUT does not change your odds or your chances of winning anything. It's for fun, not profit.

1 · Who can play

You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live, if higher).
Void where prohibited or restricted by law. You are responsible for knowing whether these games are permitted where you are.
Not open to NutLab operators, or to residents of any jurisdiction where a free promotional game of this kind is not allowed.
You need a compatible self-custody wallet on the network NUT is issued on, to receive any prize.

2 · How to play

Each player gets one free crack every few hours — currently every 4 hours; the timer on the game page shows exactly when your next one unlocks. Daily play streaks and referrals can earn a small number of extra cracks that don't wait for the timer — see §6.
Pick any nut in the grid and crack it. Which nut you pick has no effect on the outcome — the result is determined server-side the moment you crack, and every crack carries the same odds. The grid is presentation only.
Most shells are empty. Some contain a NUT prize. To receive a prize you enter (or have saved) a wallet address; see §4.
No purchase, payment, entry fee, or token holding is ever required to play or to win.

3 · Prizes & odds

Every crack is an independent event with these approximate odds. Prizes are denominated in NUT. These values are current as of the date above; NutLab may adjust them and will keep this page updated.

Daily prize pool is capped. Each prize tier has a fixed number of wins available per day. Once a tier's daily limit is reached, further cracks cannot win that tier until the next day's reset. This means the total prizes awarded in any day can never exceed a fixed amount, regardless of how many people play.

4 · Getting paid

When you win, you claim by providing a wallet address (and, if you like, a username and email). Save a profile once and future wins pay out to it automatically.
Prizes are sent on-chain, automatically, by NutLab's payout system — usually within minutes. Every payout has a public transaction hash shown on the winners board.
Larger wins and every Golden Nut jackpot receive a brief manual review before payout, as an anti-fraud measure. These are typically paid within 24 hours.
You must claim a win within 72 hours. Unclaimed wins expire.
Prizes are paid to the address you provide. NutLab is not responsible for prizes sent to an address you entered incorrectly. Send only to a wallet you control; NutLab will never DM you first or ask for your seed phrase.
You are responsible for any taxes on prizes you receive.

5 · The Golden Nut jackpot

The Golden Nut is a progressive jackpot. It starts at a base amount and grows by a set amount every day that nobody cracks it.
It can be won at most once per day. When it is won, the jackpot resets to its base and begins growing again.
The current jackpot amount is always shown on the game page.

6 · Streaks & referrals

Streaks: playing on consecutive days (UTC) builds a streak that can grant one or two extra cracks per day, usable any time without waiting for the timer. Missing a day resets your streak to one. Extra cracks carry the same odds as your free crack.
Referrals: if someone makes their first-ever crack from your share link, you earn one extra crack, up to a small daily limit. Referral cracks also carry the same odds.
Extra cracks are a convenience, not a purchase — they can only be earned by playing and sharing, never bought, and they do not improve the odds of any single crack.

7 · Fair play

Outcomes are generated on NutLab's server using a cryptographically secure random source. The visual grid, the shake, and the reveal are cosmetic.
One account/device gets one free crack per day (plus any earned extras). Attempts to farm extra plays — multiple devices, scripts, automated claims, or many wallets controlled by one person — may result in forfeited prizes and removal.
NutLab may pause, modify, or end the game, or adjust odds and prize amounts, at any time. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

8 · What we collect

To run the game and pay prizes we store: a random device ID (in your browser), a hashed form of your IP (for daily limits and anti-abuse), and, if you choose to save a profile or claim a prize, your username, wallet address, and optional email.
Your wallet address and username appear publicly (masked, or as your chosen username) on the winners board and leaderboard. Your email is never shown publicly.
We use email only for win notifications and NutLab updates, and you can ask to be removed at any time.

9 · Important — what this is and isn't

This is not gambling. There is no purchase, wager, entry fee, or stake of any kind. You never risk anything of value to play, and you cannot lose anything by playing. Buying NUT does not enter you, does not improve your odds, and is not connected to your chances in any way.

This is not an investment. NUT is a utility token. It confers no ownership, equity, dividends, revenue share, or expectation of profit. Nothing here is financial advice or an offer to sell a security. Prizes are a free promotion funded from NutLab's own promotional allocation, not a return on anything.
